Signing up
About 15 minutes, start to finish
There is genuinely not much to it. You fill in one form, we email you a code to prove the address is yours, and your secretary starts work. Nothing to install. No app, no software on your computer, no phone system to replace, and nobody has to come out and set anything up.
Have these four things in front of you and you'll be done in one sitting:
- Your business details — the name you trade under, and the services you want her to talk about.
- A mobile you can read a text on.
- An email address you can open right now.
- Your sign-up code, if we gave you one — it looks like CS-XXXXXXXX and means you don't enter a card.
What the form asks, and why
Twelve boxes, in the order the form asks them. Four matter more than people expect, so they're marked below.
| What we ask | Why we ask |
|---|---|
| Business name | What your secretary says when she answers, and the name that shows on your customers' caller ID. |
| Web address | Pick a short word — you get yourword.codesavant.tech for your page and your email. It turns green when it's available. |
| Your name | What she calls you when she reports back. |
| Secretary's name | Optional. She's Axis unless you name her — and you can rename her any time from the dashboard. |
| Industry | Sets the questions she asks callers and what she treats as an emergency. All editable later — close enough is fine. |
| Email address ★ | Your login, and where everything gets sent. Use one you can open today. |
| Mobile ★ | The number she reaches you on when something needs you (texts are off until you switch them on under Business). |
| Where is your business? ★ | Street is optional; city, state and ZIP are not. Your ZIP sets your time zone, so bookings and reminders land at the right hour. |
| Time zone | Leave it on “Use my ZIP code” unless your ZIP is in a different zone from where you work. |
| Area code ★ | The area code you want your new business line in. This is the number your customers will ring for years — worth a moment's thought. |
| Plan | Monthly or quarterly. Skip it if you have a sign-up code. |
| Sign-up code | If we gave you one, the button changes to say no payment is needed. |
Step by step
- Open the form. Go to codesavant.tech/signup.html and fill in the boxes above.
- Verify your email. Click Verify email, and we send a six-digit code to the address you entered. It arrives in seconds and lasts ten minutes. Type it in, click Confirm. Nothing is created until this passes — it's there so a typo can never lock you out of your own account.
- Finish. With a code, that's it — no card, nothing to pay, your account is live immediately. Without one, you go to Stripe to enter payment and your account goes live the moment it clears.
- Set your password. Check your email for “Welcome — your <business name> dashboard is ready”. Follow the link, pick a password, and you're in at portal.codesavant.tech. If it hasn't arrived in ten minutes, look in spam and Promotions, then email us.
- Spend fifteen minutes making her yours. Set your business hours (she starts on 9–5 weekdays, and this decides which appointment times she offers). Fix your services list. Change the greeting to what you'd want a customer to hear. And give her a name — she's Axis until you name her, and the name changes everywhere at once, including on the phone.
Your phone number
We give you a dedicated business line in the area code you asked for, and a person sets it up rather than a script — so if it matters which number you get, say so and we'll pick one together from what's available. It's usually the same day; we promise within 48 hours and email you the moment it's live.
She can take calls on it straight away. Texting takes a little longer — US carriers require every business number to be registered before it can send texts, which applies to everybody and runs on their clock, not ours. We'll tell you when it clears.
Everything else in your dashboard works from day one. You don't have to wait on the number to get set up.
Your email
Under Settings → Mail setup, click Set up my email and you get a real mailbox — yourname@yourword.codesavant.tech — that she reads and answers.
She starts in Capture & notify: she reads what comes in, turns customer enquiries into leads, and tells you about them, but sends nothing on your behalf until you switch her to Auto-reply. We'd rather you made that call after watching her work.
Already own a domain? She can answer from it instead — see Connecting your own domain.
What happens after that
- Every call and text she handles appears in your dashboard as it happens — you can read the whole conversation.
- Anything that becomes a job lands on your Leads board with the details she collected.
- Anything she isn't sure about comes to you, rather than being guessed at.
- Bookings go straight into your calendar once you connect it under Connections.
We never ask for your passwords. Not ours, not your email's, not your domain registrar's. If a message claiming to be us asks for one, it isn't us.
Questions before you start? Email support@codesavant.tech or call (888) 325-0102. Or just start — it takes about fifteen minutes.
